Installation Tips
Cleaning and properly prepping your replacement window is imperative before you install your trim. Use these tips to help achieve the best results for optimum contact and less failure.
Tip 1
Make sure the trim always has ¾” of adhesive contact on window frame. Note: Keep on hand 2- ¼” trim for jobs that have larger gaps to cover, insuring full ¾’ adhesive contact
Tip 2
Though our adhesive is water-resistant, vinyl surfaces must be free of dust, oil and moisture to create the strongest bond.
Tip 3
Apply a final bead of caulking to achieve a permanent seal between the trim and drywall. If the gap the trim is covering exceeds 1” be sure to use a quality elastomeric sealant to hold trim to drywall.
